You can learn more about Movie Maker Tool in interview I found and put up here on Gorbenko Report! And you can also download manual to understand how to UNLOCK it (It was there ALL ALONG HAHA!!)

And here is update notes for you caring people!

World in Conflict Update
Update #002

This is the second update for World in Conflict, primarily adding new functionality for server administration, updates to Massgate and fixes to various performance and stability issues.

New features:
- Several new Admin Commands have been added to give Server Admins increased control. For details on each of the individual commands and how to use them, please visit our forums at www.massgate.net.
- A time delay of 20 seconds has been added between Assault rounds.
- Clan officers can now invite other players to the clan, as well as kick Grunts.
- A successful map vote will now change the map instantly.
- Two new permanent chat rooms have been added to Massgate for clan war and few player mode matters.
- Players should now get an in-game notification when receiving an “Instant Message”.

Units and balancing:
- The cost for the “Heavy Air Support” Tactical Aid has been reduced from 30/50/70 to 25/45/65.
- Score from repairing your own non-repair units has been reduced by 50%.
- Improved heavy helicopter behavior when close to other units.

Bug fixes:
- Fixed a crash that could occur directly after map load (on systems not supporting Pixel Shader 2.0). Was released on the forums as a Hotfix.
- Fixed crashes that could occur on localized versions (languages other than English).
- “Solo VOIP” (to specific player(s)) checkbox now stays enabled when exiting score sheet.
- Players who experience occasional freezes/lockups can now try to append “-stabilityfactor 10″ (without the quotes) to the target path of the WIC shortcut. It can also be toggled in the console (in-game) by typing StabilityFactor 10. The number 10 can be decreased or increased if users want to experiment (StabilityFactor 0 turns the feature off).
- The game now defaults to full Field-of-View for Widescreen resolutions (such as 16:9). The widescreen Field-of-View from Update 1 can be used by appending “-widescreenscale” (without the quotes) to the target path of the WIC shortcut.
- Entering the Mega-Map no longer resets changes to the camera settings.
- Better feedback to players that are moved to the other team as a result of “Team Auto-Balance”.
- Players should no longer experience disconnects when selecting a role that has already reached its cap.
- Players should no longer experience disconnects when buying more units than they had credits for. This could occur if a player “resupplied” and then ordered more troops before the server had responded.
- Players should no longer experience disconnects when ordering more Tactical Aid weapons than they could afford. This could happen if a player ordered two different Tactical Aid weapons before the server responded.
- Added Dynamic Lag Margin, activated by appending “-lagmargin” (without the quotes) to the target path of the WIC shortcut. This increases the lag margin to a maximum of 0.45 at packet loss / variation in ping.
- Updated the NATO heavy helicopter texture.

The release date for Update 2 has not yet been set. Stay tuned for more details!

Have fun now little children! Bwahaaha!

Broadcast Tool DX9

October 16, 2007 · 4 Comments

Here is clarify for many visitor sending curious e-mails to me!

During the development of the Broadcast Tool, we tested a single-screen dx9 version. It has not undergone any proper QA testing.

If you want to test, here’s how you access the tool via dx9:

Create a shortcut to “wic-BroadcastTool.exe”
Right-click it and select “Properties”
In the “Target” field, add ” -dx9″, whitout the quotes. The result should look like this:
“c:Program FilesSierra EntertainmentWorld In Conflictwic-BroadcastTool.exe” -dx9

From the official Massgate forums.

Hope you understands! I do!

Coming soon… The Broadcast Tool!

October 9, 2007 · 5 Comments

OMG! I just discover that Massive is planning to release top secret tool that I only thought exist in science fiction movies! Coming soon is BROADCAST TOOL, a tool that makes boring WIC matches spectacular and sexy! I know it is not my style to approve of Swedish craftsmanship (because we all know they cannot even pick up sticks from ground with thumb quick) but here is thing that almost look like RUSSIAN invention! Amazing! It reminds me of sitting in control room in Chernobyl back in days, looking at great Russian technology that was flawless and perfect! Oh Chernobyl, great place of wonder.

“But wait”, you say. “Gorbenko! Stop being so overjoy! What IS the Broadcast Tool?!” Funny you should ask, I say! I think I will use official text to let you learn!

The Broadcast Tool is a supplementary tool that can be used to display and record World in Conflict matches. Based on the DX10-exclusive dual screen feature, users can choose between a variety of cameras to fully capture the match and display it in a very impressive manner. Originally designed for the e-sports scene, to broadcast elite matches, the Broadcast Tool will be made available for the whole World in Conflict community.

See! Anyone with DX10 computer MUST be overjoy at this news! I sat down in my room and try it from some replays where I actually end up number 5 of all 7 players! I will probably not release this movie, but end result make even other team members look good compare to me! It is great for show-off great skill and interesting match, and using for e-sport scene!

Massive say they will release tool next week, so I think I cannot sleep for quite a while now in wait for this magical thing! I will meditate back to the wormwood-filled fields of Chernobyl where my co-workers and I ate lunch in sunlight on blankets and laughed and drank vodka. Oh the memories.
