At last! It is finally time to load up new WicEd 1.2 and make excellented maps! The news was made available on Massgate propaganda last yesterday and here is direct quote:
Map makers rejoice! The new updated map-making tool is here with lots of new features to make your maps even better.
The new WicEd update adds lots of new features to the tool, including new editors for the bloom and mood systems, new sleeker interface solutions and a brand new resolution editor. For a full list of all the new features, see this wiki article!

Almost one week ago, boys and girls at Massive said WicEd 1.2 would be coming out… and it totally is! I don’t have exact detail on when, but I must say I really like what they are doing with it. I like making maps myself and play “Destroy America” games in basement, so I know what I talk about! Just look at great list of super features!
• Road intersection system added
• Detail texture override edit tool (realtime detail texture painting)
• Splatting mask edit tool (you no longer have to use external bitmap editor)
• Deploy mask editor added to gameplay map (you no longer have to use external bitmap editor)
• New terrain cut out tool added (paint holes in the ground in realtime)
• New editor for the mood system (make weather change depending on destruction)
• New editor for the bloom system (make your own hollywood style post filters)
• Resolution editor added (concentrate texture detail where it matters most)
• Ability to visualize the real ingame path maps (see how the pathfinding will actually work)
OH YES! I am very happy! Hopefully it won’t take too long now!

I knew it! Massive guys are weaklings and sentimentalists, and they have now written an open love letter to the World in Conflict community! Look at it! I can picture this being written in neat handwriting on pink, perfumed paper with rose petals and sparklies in envelope. But on serious side, Dignitas are still my number one guys! They kick so much ass it is almost ridiculous, and now they get $60,000 for their effort! OMG! Can you imagine what I could DO with that money! I would be like royal king on a big throne, and a nice car under it! I would have my own driver as well, driving my throne wherever I wanted!
I also really like how they talk about modding, because there are some pretty cool ideas going on in the modding competition. While these guys are very witty (they seem to have some very unqiue ideas that all sound very interesting in my opinion!), I can see that my own ideas are much, much better. I mean simply picture this:
You play as Gorbenko. You are an army of one, an unbeatable hacker soldier with the power of one thousand nuclear missiles. You are sent to American military bases all over the world to find their own strongest dude and fight the good fight. You can pick up tanks and helicopters with your powerful MEGA ARM and shoot their missiles easy. Americans can send millions of tanks, but Gorbenko is almost invincible. There is only one weakness. Like Superman allergy to krypton, Gorbenko is allergy to hamburgers. American hamburgers. CAPITALIST hamburgers.
Don’t forget! Massive is going to CPL finals this weekend, and it will all be broadcast live! I know what I will be watching (aside of usual Russian reality TV shows).
The crazy Swedes have put together some kind of draft program to encourage new players to join in on WIC goodness. This all means that all the happy players who actually HAVE friends who don’t play WIC yet can get medal in the game. Officially, this does not do anything , but I hear strange reports of players who have done this getting flying tanks and helicopters that can shoot nukes! I have yet to confirm this, but it COULD be worth a shot!
Now all I need to do is buy ten more copies of WIC and recruit myself…
It seems a lot of things are happening in Russia nowaday. I was very surprise to see news of great new buildings near Red Square as of the announcement of World in Conflict being release on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3! Yes, I am glad to announce the great arrival of Update 6 Update Notes! Having spent several hard nights in laboratorium, I was finally ready to get the results from the lab monkeys that make the updates. But! Someone beat me to it! Evil Mir, my nemesis, stole the results straight from my desk and posted them on Massgate! Now I must spend the rest of my day plotting a suitable revenge for this treason! For the Motherland!
